So you want to start a brand?
Or you want to learn branding in general?
Maybe a free class in marketing I suppose.
So let me teach you this VERY EASY FORMULA-
Niche + Target Audience = Brand
So... What is a Niche?
A Niche is a subject or genre that people make videos on
Let's say you want to be a gamer and post gaming content?
That's very broad so to make it more specific, you choose a niche
Maybe your brand only plays horror games... comfy games...fps games...
So you start off your brand on this specific topic.
However, this becomes an issue in the longterm so this is a START.
NOT THE END.
You might start off by being a horror game streamer/youtuber
Realize that you have reached a plateau
then completely switch to games with a bigger audience like roblox.
Maybe you start only making horror roblox/minecraft videos.
Some people get heavily stuck in their niche.
I remember when I first started my ex warned me that
"Being a variety account is harder to grow with, but better payout."
Now maybe I agreed at the time, but I don't anymore.
I think doing variety THE RIGHT WAY can grow 10x faster and easier.
I think it could play more heavily to your advantage.
But again the algorithm and whats needed changes over time.
So.... What is a target audience?
A target audience is the people who view your content.
If your content is specifically targetted at a group of people.
HOWEVER, Making your account brand FRIENDLY is pretty important.
Especially if you aren't making money from other means.
What is brand friendly... Well marketable to all ages.
If the content and things you make can easily grab a audience.
So target audience is usually the starting point of that larger audience.
What is the content about and who is recieving that content?
Sometimes this answer is DIFFERENT than what youd expect so keep that in mind.
Now since we went over those, lets explain branding.
A brand could be a FACE, A LOGO, Something that stands out.
Usually if you make IRL content than YOU ARE THE BRAND.
If you make Vtuber content than YOUR MODEL IS THE BRAND.
Essentially - You are a product.
And if your product sells, gets engagement, and is likable to consumers.
You win.
So how do you create branding?
Well, look at other creators and what they have in common.
Usually a LOGO. Think Mcdonalds, Burger King, and TGIF.
Now, think youtubers...
PewdiePie has his brofist, They even gave him a brofist statue.
So a LOGO can be simplistic but usually ACRONMYS
LIKE - AMP, FAZE, OTK
They all have logos. Feel free to look those up in your free time.
Now that you created a LOGO or a PFP that's now YOU.
EVERYWHERE. EVERY FUCKING WHERE.
ALSO WHEN MAKING A LOGO - USE COLOR SCHEMES!
What color do you want to represent your channel.
ALSO feel free to look into the psychology of colors.
What emotions are you trying to bring out when someone looks at your logo.
Now that you should have a username, a logo, multiple accounts...
It's time to go even deeper...
Look- You can create a google doc and start planning.
Write down ideas for your content.
What do you want to bring in the future?
What videos fit you the best?
What is your marketing stragedy (yup content creation is just marketing..shocking)
How do you want your audience to engage with your content?
What audience are you even trying to draw in?
Ask yourself the deepest questions possible.
Get this out of the way - it will make it easier in the future.
When I was creating content for Suffy-
I always made sure that the content I was matching
MATCHED what my output was.
Meaning - Would it resonate with the watcher?
Does it connect to what I have already out put?
I made it apparent to add new facts about myself EVERY VIDEO
I CREATED. EVER. TO CONNECT. TO ENGAGE. TO GRAB.
Now- When it comes to branding as well
think about what content creators youd like to work with
or what creators you think would work with you?
NOW SCRAP THAT COMPLETELY
You want to be able to work with ANY and EVERYONE.
DO NOT BOX YOURSELF.
SO CREATE A BRAND
FOLLOW IT
THEN DISCARD THE MAIN IMAGE
AND CREATE IT INTO WHAT YOU WANT TO BE!
DO NOT GET STUCK
YOU CAN ALWAYS CHANGE
DONT FORGET THAT.
